Mid Sussex Labour Party is proud to endorse and sponsor Computers For Kids. We believe that no one in our society should find their way ahead in life hampered by social, mental or physical disadvantages. The work that Computers For Kids is doing to help children access modern educational needs shines a light showing the way forward for other groups to follow.
The following is the ways in which we have committed to support computers for kids in its effort to ensure no child’s education is impacted by digital exclusion in our ever more digital world.
- We will help identify grants C4K can apply for to help support operational costs of the initiative.
- Once fire safety work has been done, Our office on Junction Rd, Burgess Hill may be used as a collection point for computers for the local community and a drop off point for those that wish to donate their old tech to computers for kids to be made ready to be passed on to a School child in need or disabled person.
- The appointment our BULO officer to assist in helping further develop associations with local businesses in the interest of supporting the community with their old tech.
- Mid Sussex Labour Party will advise their members of computers for kids cause and urge them to support our efforts.
- Mid Sussex Labour Party will hand out provided materials on their stalls at public events, such as Lindfield Village Day, Burgess Hill Picnic in the Park.
- Will invite Computers for kids to speak at meetings covering education policy. This is so we can put our views and arguments on changes that need to be made in policy to be of better benefit to children in school. Also, on how to support them fully with the right technology for the times and how this can be achieved in an ecologically friendly way and at a relatively low cost.
The benefit their work has for our community and environment deserves the support of us all and we would urge you to support them as they will continue to support others.
