We are very happy to announce that Mid Sussex Labour Party graciously offered us their endorsement.
Our hope is that through this partnership we will only further our ability to help and assist the community. Mid Sussex Labour have been the first of the political parties to endorse our work publicly for the benefit of the community.
The assistants that has been offered to help our efforts are:
- To help identify grants C4K can apply for to help support operational costs of the initiative.
- Once fire safety work has been done, Their office on Junction Rd, Burgess Hill will be used as a collection point for computers for the local community and a drop off point for those that wish to donate their old tech to computers for kids to be made ready to be passed on to a School child in need or disabled person.
- The appointment our BULO officer to assist in helping further develop associations with local businesses in the interest of supporting the community with their old tech.
- Mid Sussex Labour Party will advise their members of computers for kids cause and urge them to support our efforts.
- Mid Sussex Labour Party will hand out provided materials on their stalls at public events, such as Lindfield Village Day, Burgess Hill Picnic in the Park.
- Will invite Computers for kids to speak at meetings covering education policy. This is so we can put our views and arguments on changes that need to be made in policy to be of better benefit to children in school. Also, on how to support them fully with the right technology for the times and how this can be achieved in an ecologically friendly way and at a relatively low cost.
This is a huge benefit for Computers for kids and the community as this support guarantees more children in our local area will be helped with technology to aid in their education. This also ensures more people that are disabled and not always able to leave their homes with ease are connected with the support they require and not excluded from society as they can stay connected better and will be able to easier communicate with their loved ones and support networks.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite the other parties to give us their endorsements. This so we can all pro-actively work together to to close the digital divide, create more equality and also help in the next generations development via better resources for their education. This will help our society more in the future through a better educated and skilled population. With the added benefit of keeping many tonnes of computer and electrical waste from going to landfill by recycling this in a socially beneficial way.
